Raimon Àvila
He is a body awareness teacher at the Institut del Teatre and at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESMUC), and head of the Department of Movement at the Institut del Teatre.
He holds a degree in contemporary dance from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. In 1983, he completed his studies at the Mudra school, under the guidance of Maurice Béjart, in Brussels, and once again in Barcelona, he performed in several shows.
Since 1988, he has been teaching body awareness techniques, movement, and physical theater workshops at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático of the Institut del Teatre, as well as body awareness at the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña.
From 2002 to 2006, he served as the director of the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático at the Institut del Teatre. He has written, premiered, and published several theatrical works and won poetry awards (such as the Vicent Andrés Estellés and Flor Natural Jocss Florals de Barcelona awards). He choreographed and directed part of the 1992 Olympic Games ceremony and, on September 11, 2004, he directed the Sardana de la Paz at the Forum of Cultures.
He is the author, among others, of “Jirí Kylian: Soñador de danzas” (2003), “Mover y conmover, consciencia corporal para actores, músicos y bailarines” (2011), “Impulsos, emoción y movimiento en el intérprete escénico” (2014), and “Cuerpo y música, prácticas conscientes para la mejora de la interpretación musical” (2018).
