THEATER CREATION WORKSHOP: Love

The theme of this year’s workshop is love.
Perhaps love is one of the greatest forces that move us as people. From Christian mysticism, through Sufism and Kabbalah, various mystical schools argue that free will is annulled in love. According to these currents of thought, obligatory learning would be masked by eros and love so that we cannot avoid going through them; According to the Sufis, love involves the “dance of the veils”, that is, the tests of destiny that force us to discern in order to evolve. In that sense, love would be one of the most visible faces of destiny or at least of the feeling of destiny…
And we know that when love is, it doesn’t matter what we think: there is nothing we can do. What to do with this enormous force? How to relate to her? In our creation workshop about love we are not looking for any answer to this problem. However, we can contribute to what is reserved for the field of theater: through acting and movement improvisations and guided writing exercises we will seek the artistic expression of our emotions, their liberation through their integration and the consequent internal reflection that it may imply for the participants of the process, as well as for those who teach it, because as we always comment, this is not a therapeutic workshop, but an artistic creation workshop where we work on landscapes symbolic of the unconscious in order to open something that everyone will have the freedom to keep for themselves or to share in an artistic way.
Love and theater, the love of theater and the theater of love are combinatorials that, like few things, have a common point: they are inescapable and wonderful forms of knowledge strong>.
At the end of this process, we will premiere our work in the theater Dau al Sec during the month of June 2024.
Objectives
- Create from non-judgment to be able to apply the judgment later.
- Work creatively as a team: learn to see, hear and listen from the here and now to integrate instructions while moving towards a common goal: the task.
- Unlock creativity and, therefore, inspiration, without tending to one’s own judgments that restrict one’s own expression.
- Welcome criticism in a constructive way.
- Develop curiosity about the human being, that is, from the archetypes of the feminine and the masculine to the particular characteristics of each participant, passing through the entire intermediate spectrum.
- Develop ways of telling and looking at yourself.
- Access, through the collective imagination, to recesses of the unconscious that speak and relate our human experience.
- Perform a staging: a final theatrical representation through the entire process of dramaturgical and interpretive experimentation based on one’s own internal voice.

- Approach from the theatrical game to myths, universal and complex archetypes related to sentimental love in all its variants and passion as a path of knowledge throughout different cultural traditions, mystical systems, and history of dramatic literature, theater and art.
- Conducted writing exercises, alternating with readings of other people’s and own texts.

This workshop can also be accessed by theater students from other schools, actors/actresses, professional playwrights and other accomplices of the scene.

Cancellation Policy
. In case of cancellation up to 30 days before the start of the training, the course fee will be refunded, except for the registration deposit.
. In case of cancellation up to 15 days before starting the training, 50% of the course will be refunded, except for the registration deposit.
. In case of cancellation within 15 days before starting the training, or once it has started, the amount paid will NOT be refunded.
